The best player for corrupted and incomplete videos?

hi guys,
im looking for a good player, that is able to play corrupted and incomplete videos... i tried VLC (VideoLanClient), but it is pretty unstable and you cant use file assosiations with this player... you have to open every file via file->open, but it was the only player i found that played corrupted videos at all.
can somebody help me?

As far as I know the "player" you are looking for is called "VirtualDub" or "DivXFix"

But if for some reason you want/have to keep the file as it is (e.g it is burned on a CD) i think that DivX Player is able to open and play currupted files.
