reccommendations for an Audio editing program

can anyone reccommend a good audio editing program that works just as easy as nandub as far as cutting splitting and joining

For what? Cutting and splitting audio? if so then CoolEdit seems somewhat easy to use.

For cutting and splitting video? Not really sure. Vdub/Nandub and OggCut serves the purpose for me
