Tool to check AVC streams for errors

I was wondering if there is a reliable free tool to check AVC streams for encoding/decoding errors.

Every now and then I find visual errors in my x264 encodes. I can't pinpoint the source and I don't have the time to check every encode thoroughly by hand to be sure it really is free of any visual/playback error.
