Gorden Knot VDub troubles

The guide on doom9 says to open vdub and then open the vid file,
that works ok,then i set fast compress.

Then it says "Select the XVID MPEG-4 CODEC from the list of codecs"
i dont seem to have that codec in the list.
any ideas anyone?
i am using the vdub that was installed by gorden knot.

Since i installed the package Media Player 8 is crashing and giving me a blue screen of death.

If you are using Doom9's guides, you will find the links to all software you need, as well as links to guides with more details strewn throughout. Links look like this.
