DVDFab Passkey

Dear all,

We released a new software DVDFab Passkey at http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=3691

It has similar features like AnyDVD HD, but it's free during BETA stage.

Please try it and give us your invaluable feedback, thank you very much!

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Does this free beta version work with ALL known MKBs, through MKB 16?

BTW - Instead of relying on members' knowledge of a competitor's "similar" product, why don't you post here what "DVDFab Passkey" specifically does and doesn't do?

The core features are same. For difference between DVDFab and AnyDVD, I remember few:

dvdfab has better jump to main movie / menu feature, since dvdfab uses pathplayer's result.

anydvd has anycdda for audio cd, subpic control, run 3rd app when disc inserted, etc.

Hmm... this could be quite interesting once it reaches fruition. I'm going to have to analyse it and post a tutorial on Adubvideo. Does it come with a built in ripper, or is it better used with something like DVD Decrypter as a front end?

If user want to rip, we suggest to use DVDFab HD Decrypter with DVDFab Passkey.

Whether intentionally or otherwise, Passkey apparently refuses to recognize .ISOs mounted with Virtual Clone Drive. I guess it can only be used with the freeware virtual drive available from dvdidle.

If anyone uses Daemon Tools, perhaps you can see if Passkey recognizes .ISOs mounted with Daemon Tools.

After all this time of monopoly, thanks to almost simultaneous releases by the folks who bring us MakeMKV and those who bring us DVDFab, I for one am pleased that we can now choose between three products that can copy full BluRay discs, in addition to differing multiple capabilities (one click creation of MKVs, streaming, DVD ripping, DVD compression, conversion to mobile formats, etc.)

Hi setarip_old,

Are you using the latest version of Virtual Clone Drive? Our test shows there is no problem.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Another problem; Setting can't change.
I check off "Run DVDFab Passkey at Windows startup" every time, but Fab run every time and this check is on.

Regards.

@ron spencer

Are you sure it's not making "BDLive!" connections?

actually no...every bluray disc it needs to phone home it seems...not just for BD+ or Live

I still think since it is starting at V7 that it will replace DVDFab and those users will be out of luck...like they did for CSS-Region free product. Will have to buy Passkey if want support. Not sure I like that.

DVDFab Passkey and DVDFab are separate products.
DVDFab Passkey (like AnyDVD) is intended for use with thirdy party DVD copying software.

Also, DVDFab 6 has progressed into DVDFab 7 (beta right now) and is available for download.
DVDFab wont be discontinued.
