Vertical Line after encoding Dvd to mkv
Hi hope someone can explain me the situation here.
I am using HDC for converting some Dvds to mkv with x264 codec. No problems so far but today trying encode Lotr movie get me some strange default see picture. [IMG][/IMG] There is a vertical linie, that flickers at the right end of the movie. Movie is cropped and anamorph encoded. Can you help pls Last edited by Jaspa; 12th September 2009 at 11:12. |

Hi again
Here are another 2 samples pics. In the original stream there is no failure. Made a few encoding tests, with different crop values (more or less cropping) the result is always the same. You can see at right end of the visible movie the white line, when watching the movie, it flickers. what kind of problem could that be? Last edited by Jaspa; 15th September 2009 at 21:16. |

I did a quick encode of your test clip using ffvfw x264 with default settings and found no broken line. Perhaps this issue is related to your playback software. See: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ddjtgk
Also: Why are you linking to upscaled pictures? Look at the original decoded frames. Last edited by thewebchat; 15th September 2009 at 23:25. |

Strange, have tried Win Media Player that gives me the broken line for that encode. In Vlc it seems ok to me in Full Picture Mode.
Testet with other mkv files made with HDC Converter the are all ok in Vlc and Win Player. Perhaps there is something going wrong with the encoding from this dvd source |

I dont think its a problem with filters or decoders on my system. no-codec packs installed. And other rips with the same Gui (HDC) and same encoding settings play perfectly on Different Software Players... |
