DXVA encoding era has started

Hi guys, i can say the new era has started.

Badaboom beta2 is re-encoding to 720p PS3 file with 14-15 fps while the original is 1080p 24. (DXVA)

Even the profiles are limited yet; it is a good start.

You will find here 177.92 FW for nVidia and Badaboom trial:

and another test i hope they fixed some source input problems
tough 14-15 fps isn't really fast got 30 fps there with beta1 for 1080p H.264 (Casino Royale) bitstreams to 720p on my 8800 GT
the CPU utilization looks the same as for me around 30%

Phiiii I have about 12 fps in x264 CRF@22 on quad core 3Ghz . Besides x264 gives alot better quality than this. (baseline profile)

Yeah X264 is still better i doubt they updated the Core Engine here but you never know also it's easy to get X264 as fast as ETIs Encoder X264 is the most versaitaile Encoder exisiting you can get it from Ultrafast to Ultraslow and with some code modifications even faster then Ultrafast :P

What if they give the half of the job to your 4 core and give the remaining job to your GPU

Not another GPU encoder / badaboom thread ....

HEre's another, and i've seen a badaboom-one to; http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=140385

GPU-encoding is really not up to the task of high quality encoding, and it wont be in a long time.
