Question on POC

Hello all,

IN AVC there are 3 types of POC. But to me, they are just used for the same purpose. So please who can explain for me why is this? Or point me some JVT proposals about how this happens. Thanks.

Type 0: send POC explicitly in each slice header. Allows maximum flexibility.

Type 1: set up expected increments in sequence parameter set; only send a delta if there is any change to expected order. Suitable for situation where there is a repeating “cycle” of pictures, c.f. MPEG-2 GOP.

Type 2: display order same as decoding order. POC is derived from frame_num; minimal overhead.
