Programs compatible with Premiere plugins?

Hi,
Ever since I started visiting this forum, I've started to do very advanced encodes using gknot thanks to all the excellent advice I was offered here. Lately I've become interested in more advanced video editing including special effects. I read a review of hollywoodFx plugin for premiere and was amazed at the cool effects, I was wondering if you folks could help guide me in the selection of a software that is compatible with premiere and/or pinnacle studio plugins. I'm still a bit, actually make it a total noob to this kind of video editing so I would appreciate it if the suggested software would be geared more towards my kind of experience.

Thank you

hollywoodFX is more of a transitioning effects plugin if i recall it correctly, right?

since you expressed interesting in VFX, this is a whole new topic and i am afraid a NLE software is not quite capable of something like this. A compositing software is probably something you'd be looking after. such as Apple Shake, Adobe After Effects, Eyeon Fusion, etc. tons of them out there. for even more advanced (3D) effects, you will probably need a 3D modeling&animation package like 3ds max or maya.
