use the MPC built-in associator. you have to add the formats you want to associate manually.
It does not work either. I did the same on my laptop with vista as well and result was the same. Is there any app to force registering new file extension on vista?

New build! MPC HC v1.0.11.2

http://rapidshare.com/files/79392113/mplayerc.rar.html

Changes:
EVR custom presenter now supports DXVA.

This is supposed to be an internal/beta build.

[EDIT]I get worse performance with high buffers, can someone confirm this?[/EDIT]

Gave it a quick test here using .vob files, EVR Custom Presenter and the Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder, gets reported in the Cyberlink advanced settings (holding CTRL when choosing it in the filter menu) as using IDCT, which I think is correct for my 7900 GTO (which has PureVideo 1 not 2).

I prefer Haali renderer and ffdshow anyway, but it's great to see it working.

I'm a little hesitant about downloading and installing anything from other than an official site (like SourceForge).

Also, how does a renderer support DXVA ? Usually it is the decoder that supports DXVA...

Compiled by _xxl and posted in the ffdshow thread, so it's legit.

The decoder and the renderer have to support DXVA for it to work at all, this just fixes the renderer half if you already have the decoder working with EVR or VMR9.

Dunno if anyone noticed, but this new build seems to have internal filters for AVC, DviX/Xvid etc. Pretty sure this is new.

The internal h264 decoder does not decode video in my case. I can see the subtitles though... also whey you configure it the boxes don't remain ticked.

The internal H.264 decoder works here, but it's even slower than ffdshow and doesn't look particularly nice.

Thanks, the settings are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Gabest though, I backed up and cleared the reg, opened it tried it clean and it worked (it decodes h264 but the boxes remain non ticked), then I re-applied the backup of the settings and still works.

However it's just like Shakey_Jake33 said though.

Guys, can you fix it. This is Russian subtitles in Cyrillic-1251. In UTF-8 all ok. On MPC from clsid and from Gabest subtitle work correctly in any coding.

PS Sorry for my english

DXVA works for H264, but there is strict conditions :
- Vista only (DXVA 1 not working yet )
- Use EVR or EVR custom
- Have a Video card compatible with mode H.264 VLD (look on this thread : http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=131272)

It works on my ATI 2600 HD, and should works too on some nVidia board. Still under construction, and not very stable (crash MPC on closing).
