x264 (mkv) to xvid?

Hi all,

I have a few x264 (1280x720) videos that I would like to convert to xvid so I can test the compatability with my Zensonic Z500. The Zensonic does not support the x264 AVC profile, (nor h264 I don't think). I would like to keep the resolution the same.

I tried AutoGK, but that doesn't support mkv file types. Is there a good way to do this? (I know the quality will probably go down unless I keep a pretty high bitrate...at the moment, that is of little concern).

Thanks in advance!

Well, have you tried megui? It does Xvid, as well, and can import anything directshow can play. (Via avisynth.)

I just downloaded megui, and made the most simple avisynth script I could think of:

DirectShowSource("d:\video.mkv")

When I open this with Media Player Classic it says there is no video stream. Same with opening it in VDubMod. Any ideas?

I'm sure I just need to install some sort of codec or something? I can play the x264 file just fine on my computer though.

Try it with the latest version of avisynth: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=57023
