Vegas and Vasst Subtext

Yesterday I downloaded this utility from Vaast site. It claims to imports subtitles (in text format) to regions, but has no help file!
Anyone here uses this script?

I have used this script.

If you create a text file with one sentence per line, and then chop your video (s button) after every sentence, then using this plugin you can import the text as "regions" that will be placed on each of the events (sub splices, cuts, created by the s button) of your video.

Regions are a bit like markers (m button) except they are displayed in green and have a start and end point. I think that they are only markers (no actual function, video effect) so what good do the regions do you?

Then you can export regions as a ".sub" (one form of) subtitle file. This .sub file can then be used by DVD Architect Pro (not studio) to create dvd's with subtitles.

The script thus allows Vegas users to use Vegas to create their .sub files, rather than using Subitle Workshop. Subtitle Workshop is much better at making .sub files.

You can also import DVD Architect created .sub files into vegas using the VASST script perhaps in order to tweak them.

Using Vegas it is not possible to render subtitles without using the media generator to add text to the vide one caption at a time.

There is a "subtitler" addin filter for VirtualDub that allows you to import a .sub file, created by Subtitle Workshop. This is the only way I know of making a rendered video complete with subtitles. It does work but Virtual Dub only renders to massive avi files. You would then have to convert these to another format. It is a shame that Vegas can't do something that free software can do.
