How to make a good quality rip when there is a lot of flashing screen.
What have a done:
1.Used DGindx to process the VOB file 2.Made a AVIsynth script using Undot(), KernelDeInt(order=1,sharp=true) and LanczosResize(640,480) 3.Encoded the file using XviD 2 pass 2000Kb/s with options: Motions search precision 4-Hight VHQ-mode 3-medium search and with other settings at default And I ended up producing something that bad looking Video, ~10MB)http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...4B088C1AB8EBEE Did I do something wrong? Or is it Mpeg 4 codec cant cope with those flashing screen at such bitrate? (2000Kb/s) and most importantly, how can I improve the video quality? Thanks |

It's more than the flashing, it's also similar to the way you get heavy blocking of fog or fire. Large areas of similar color are already hard to encode, and when you combine it with rapid scene changes and huge amounts of motion, you're going to have problems. You've also got a much higher bitrate on the audio than you probably need.

You might try adjusting the keyframe boost/reduction. (I didn't look at your clip, but this comes to mind anyways)
