DivX ;-) Audio Codec: strange behaviour

I found two new codecs in Control panel | Multimedia | Devices:

DivX ;-) Audio Codec (second in the list of priorities)
DivX ;-) Audio Compressor (second from the bottom)

I assume they're related to the newly installed DivX;-) 3.11 codec brought into the PC by GordianKnot 0.21 (I always used only DivX4 and it has no audio codec, it uses MPEG Layer-3, right?).

The problem is that, if I select one of them for details, the "Codec" disappears immediately from the list and the "Compressor" jumps to second position, from the previous second-last position. Both show priority 2 when selected.

It happens also to you?

btw, I'm running WinNT4, if it helps.

any reason you need to use that divx audio codec? it's a "cracked" version of one of the outdated WMA audio codecs. best to avoid. too many issues.

You're right, the codec came from a test install of Gordian Knot 0.21, that's why I'm trying to uninstall it (see my other thread under the DivX3 encoding forum), but without success (it always reappears
