Hey. Great software.

Although, why not put it default to x264 in MKV?

And perhaps, too, to "copy (original) audio." More importantly, I think the de-noise filters should best be put to off by default. Unless I'm wrong.

Yours,

@twipley
You can create your own profile with your preferred settings and then load this when you start the program. That way you can always be outputting to H264 in MKV (remember x264 is a compressor, not a standard) and keep your original audio.

Ye. I've already done that. Although I still wonder why the denoise filters are put on (though at "slight") by default.

[QUOTE=Macgyver;1418412]The source, a HD-PVR file, plays flawlessly, but when I run it though this is the notation I get as it converts it.

The video is fine, but the audio is slightly out of sync when the avi is played back.

Any ideas?

The report is attached.

**** update *******

Ran the Mpeg2/TS file through mpeg2repair which, when the conversion is run, the are now no errors, YET still an audio lag.

************** update *********

I'm the only one with a/c sync errors?

Sorry to have bothered ya all.

I had problems with some conversions but through other programs; the error always was the source, and choosing DVDFab as the "disc extractor," main-movie option, in most cases fixed the issue.

Dunno if this can be of any help to you. :S

EDIT: sometimes I was also helped by this post: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...06#post1006806

each episodes must be selected and analyzed OR you must rip your dvd already splitted by episodes

audio is slower, faster or just befor or after ?
could you try to remux it with projectX or pva strumento ?

The only workaround I've found is to rip the DVD again but only extract the english subtitle stream.
afaik is a problem of mp4box or splitter for mp4
what player are you using ? have you tried with vlc ?

If I set Force FFmpegSource before encoding, it runs with the correct speed (FPS and duration are same as with ForceDirectShowSource), but the mouse cursor that was captured in the original video is no longer visible.
check your dss configuration (namely ffdshow) if something is "wrong"
or change decoder for your capture

2. If the original file has no audio, but I forget to turn it off in the options, HDC starts encoding but finishes without a resulting file. Could this be fixed by automatically disabling audio in the encoding options if no audio is detected, or give some kind of warning?
sorry pal, you must disable it

ffdshow has default options set. It wasn't loading when I watched the original file in ZoomPlayer or WMP. It did when I enabled Raw video in ffdshow codecs, but no change in encoding results. Could you take a look at the sample?

Thanks for the reply, but this isn't a dvd rip (unless I missed something) and I simply can not fix it in VDub, which is what I've been doing for donkey's years.

Interestingly though, when I allow Beyond TV's Divx conversion to run, there isn't a problem.

Leads me to believe there is a problem with HD-CTX.

@*Touche*

there is something very weird with your files

all the samples have 25 fps, but there is a speedup on dss decoding

you can try opening the hdconverttox_testni1.avs in mpc and let's play it (or virtualdub) and check for information

another try is to force for dss decoding the changefps to 12.5 or similar

anyway i doubt that's a problem of hdc

could you post the original sample ? (since Testni1.avi don't have cursor i don't think it's the original)

Hmm, it is the original. I have the cursor when I play it.

"you can try opening the hdconverttox_testni1.avs in mpc and let's play it (or virtualdub) and check for information"

What information should I check for?

And how come FFmpegsource doesn't speed it up?

ffmpegsource rely on ffmpeg, directshowsource rely on... directshowsource!

these are two different kind of decoding, each one with pro and cons

Each episode is a separate ifo and vob. Is that what you meant by split by episode?

The finished file has choices for each language. VSRip is extrcating the correct language but it adds ids for all the other languages. Please see the attached idx code:

every extra id line adds another subtitle option to the final film, and since there are no timestamps, it's just an empty subtitle stream.

Two questions, when I am accepting PGC and select Multi Episodes, would there be any way to have all multi episodes added to queue as individual encodes?

Can I set a fixed width to use so that once file has been analysed and cropped that all adjuetments are made to the fixed width? Eg if I set width to 720 and I want it to stay at that regardless of analysis but leave height adjustable.

Would it be easy to enable a set Fixed height option in the profile text.
Code:
#Crop&Resize
Crop Obey to AR=0
Follow ITU Resizing=0
No Resize Crop=0
Anamorphic=0
Set MOD Width=16
Set MOD Height=16
Set Height = 720
Set Width = 400
No AutoCrop=0
Could be useful for specific device profiles that need set display size options Or leaving the Width Variable = Off could allow for automatic cropping and resizing.

hello,
Ever since I upgrade to latest version, I find that the final file is not made onto wherever I save it, and I have to mux the .avi and .mp3 from jobx folder manually.

Is there any log file I can post to help identify the problem?

i can look.. but seems more an issue due to vsrip/mp4box...

you must select each episodes and add one at time

you can always say yes to assume same properties to all file
in this way no change is made on width/height

The only issue is that with multi episode DVD you are reopening the same ifo which means re-analyzing to access the other PGC's. Unless I am doing it wrong?

For Each PGC it seems I need to reanalyse the ifo to access the next PGC.

Buzzqw but that then resets the sizing as its re analyzed, thats why i questioned either being able to fix width or import all pgc's from a multi-episode at once.

Hey Mate. just writing in regards to Linux compatibility. I remember a few years back you had said that Automkv will run on Linux using Wine (limited)

wine 1.2 was released a few days ago http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.2

Loads and loads of changes here. I can play most modern games fine using wine and am wondering what you think about using hdconvertox on wine??

I am going to try run an encode using WINE however Ii am not an expert. I know there are many options in hdconvertox, some which when turned on may trip a bug in wine.

If we get good results running on Linux, maybe it could get mentioned it on the main page. I would be happy to help attempt a tutorial for getting it running on wine although I have never done one before, but I’m sure I’ll be able to sort it out..

Cheers!!
