Zoom player and BIG 1080P mkv

Hi,
I apologize if this is not posted in the right group.
But its sort of an Software yet, codec question.

All these years i have been using Zoom player, smacked on ffdshow, and ejoyed bliss..
Then came some more advanced files with DTS, vbr etc. etc.

So nowdays, I fiddle between dscaler, for vid and audio, as well as Coreavc, and i notice, damn.. i am starting all over
And today I have the option of using EVR instead of "overlay mixer" the other options give me judder headache.

I dont notice any problems om my quad rig.
But on my htpcs, (i got an ion330 and a Fuj Siemens dualcore)
I suddenly started noticing jerks here and there...
Yes i am a bit picky, but when i use ffdshow in zoomplayer, only 25% of the cpu is being used (Coreavc, is up to 50%).

So i understand ppl have different setups, prefs etc.
But shouldnt there be a pretty "standard" setup for best use of resources?

So my question is, what settings do you guys use to play these 13 gb+ 1080P files?

I will gladly share any experience, and hope again i posted in the right place

Feel free to comment!

File size is likely not as determinative of playback smoothness as the file's other characteristics. Post a MediaInfo "Text" view of the file into a codebox in tis thread and maybe someone will spot something known to interfere with playback (VBV buffer size, etc.)

Second one is one that freezes quite often, yet seems to work better on Coreavc and faster computer.

I perhaps thought that the larger the mkv files, the higher the bitrate hence the jerkiness, but since my cpu doesnt even reach more than 50% at MAX, it perhaps points to a decoder error on my part.

I appreciate your time

You've been posting here for a little while, you should know the strict rule about downloaded movies. Closed and struck for rule 6.
