Should a software player show a OSD message when seeking?

It seems some players do not show an OSD message when seeking, most players do show a message but differently. Which method do you prefer?

1. no message

2. 00:00:00 / 02:00:00

3. 00:00 / 120:00

I really like only option 3, anybody else an opinion? Does it matter?

I personally like 2. But I bet everybody has a different opinion on things like that. Best solution is to make it customizable.

Knowing what is the most popular opinion will help player developers to choose the best possible default.

I notice you are very active in player related threads, does your favorite player allow any customization?

I like option 2 as well, but it needs to be customizable.
I use a remote app with mpc-be / hc, so displaying this info on the osd is not important anymore.

Instead of obsessing about inconsequential things, why don't you fix the major bugs in your application?

Ok, I started and alternative browser (Edge) and read your message, so option 1, thanks for the feedback.

Thank you, and yes, on first page of options in MPC-BE you can tick or untick "Show seek time". No need for any further customization.

It suits best for me

From your comments and on few sites like imdb and amazon it seems option 2 is the most popular. I've overridden option 2 with option 3 and a user had difficulties with it and created a ticket because it's not transparent and not documented. I have to remove it. The script is listed in the user scripts section of the mpv wiki for people that really want it.
