LAV only provides decoders. It does not have any encoders at all.

too bad this project was abandoned, because LAV filters does not come close to the customization and features ffd has.
i have a ton of filters and settings that simply can't be recreated in LAV, i could forgo those for video, but not for audio has LAV has no custom matrix mapping |

Hi
I'm trying to upmix 2ch sound to 5.1 on the fly. I have "apply Dolby pro logic II to all stereo source" checked. I have Resample enabled to re sample everything to 48khz, and in output, I have encode to ac3 enabled (I need spdif output for my sound bar). This works and I get surround sound, but the sound out of the rears is noisy and breaks up (I checked with real 5.1 sources, my speakers are fine). I'm isn't 4531 but tried 4532 also. Any hint to how i can fix this? Thanks in advance

Dolby pro logic II decoder is for sources that have also been encoded with that technology. It might not be what you want for standard stereo input. Try the normal mixer instead (with expand stereo options enabled).

^^^ thank you. That Dolby decoder option doesn't do what I think it does. I guess it's called DECODER for a reason
I got mixer to work after a bit of fiddling.

YV12 and NV12 are basically the same, technically the data is just stored in different order. Just set decoder output to YV12 and ffdshow output to NV12. Also make sure in ffdshow/codecs -> Raw = All Supported. (FFDShow Post Processing Filter)

There is bug in AVIS "decoding" on 64bit
after ffdshow starts a new avisynth thread(?), it does not close the old one, which leads to memory leaks this doesn't happen on the 32bit to "visualize" problem, here a simple example script based on MP Pipeline Code:
MP_Pipeline(""" ### platform: win64 FFVideoSource("some.video") ### ### """) but in x32 VirtualDub, everything is fine, old copy of "MP_Pipeline.*.slave.exe" closes properly it's not Avisynth bug, since if you change platform to 32 bit Code:
### platform: win32 I know that probably talking in the void, but maybe someone can fix this... |

I've had consistent problems over the years with ffdshow staying in memory, keeping icons in the system tray. I have to move the mouse over them for them to disappear and then generally the next run plays fine.
I've learned to live with it, but would be nice to have this fixed as ffdshow still remains the only way to apply Avisynth to video playback in real time. |

FWIW, I can prevent my media player from crashing occasionally on startup and on close by unticking buffer back/ahead. However doing this reduces performance considerably and isn't really an option when doing real time post processing.

I am attempting to manually load a subtitle file using the Delphi API by calling "dsFFDShowSubInt.putParamStrW(IDFF_subFilename,@FileName[1])" (where "filename" is a widestring) and it results in a crash within ffdshow.
I would appreciate the help if anyone has a clue why it's crashing. |

and u suck!
ffdshow is still used by many people to show subtitles but when .idx/.sub ... ... CRASH. ffdshow is still used by many people to use avisynth in realtime (where is the alternative?). and U drop development? and why did the "VobSub subtitles (incomplete!)" never got "complete"? over the many years ffdshow tryouts was developed this wasnt fixed? Nice work. PERFECT! Last edited by thomaz909; 7th September 2017 at 12:39. |
