Why people should buy samples of DVD media, first.
I bought a few samples from a local retailer of what was labeled as silver topped Ritek G04s. I used DVDinfoPro to determine that the media had this code, PVC001001. Is this the Ritek brand? I think not. I bought several Ritek G04s elsewhere, and they had the RitekG04 designation. So what is this mysterious media? And why are merchants selling it under the Ritek brand? Obviously there's some sort of con afoot. People over at another forum have reported that they've had silver topped Riteks fail on them. Something that people rarely seem to report in regards to Ritek. It must be the alternate brand above. Any opinions on whether someone might be trying to pawn off CMC media(?) as more expensive Riteks?

have a look at this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40369
It almost looks like you got yourself a bunch of Pioneer discs, so you made quite a bargain with those discs

It looks that way. But I would've preferred 4x Pioneers. Explains why they only burned at 2x. Thanks for the thread. Pretty expensive mistake for the retailer. Wonder if he's dumb enough to do it again?
