Its not a problem for me, as i can use the cyberlinks decoders, but would be nice, if that can be fixed.

Thanks
That's probably a splitter problem, anyhow you still have to post all the results of the troubleshoot link in my sig (including screenshots/samples)

Internal DXVA is still broken in 1156 with h264. It displays jumping frames as if the frame buffers are not displayed in the correct order. Tested on BDs with h264 streams - it failed on all of them. Cyberlink PDVD7 h264 DXVA and 1137 work fine. All this on Win XP, Catalyst 9.5, VMR9 rl and ATI 2600 Pro AGP. I tried ALL combinations of render settings (VSync, Flush GPu etc).

I dont think that's a good idea to turn off things like Sueprfetch, UAC, Indexing, UIPI, at least in a 2k9 OS.
If you do it, you can use Win2k and you wont notice the difference.

Im using W7 7201 and the only service i disabled is Defender. Trust me, its a great OS.

Hello, I would like to ask about the state of DXVA on Intel graphics. Which cards are supported? Which cards might be supported in the future? Which OS?

I tried to search through the forum, but couldn't find an answer.

Maybe the information could be updated on the official page as a work in progress.

Same problem. But if I disable mixer mode of VMR9_Renderless in Output page, files play fine. My config: Win XP, Catalyst 9.5, VMR9_Renderless and ATI 3850.

And one more question:
build 1043(Properties)+VMR9_Renderless without mixer mode

build 1156(Properties)+VMR9_Renderless without mixer mode

Is it something with mixer mode to ?

on Nvidia and XP it's not that bad now. it wont show jumping frames or the video will freeze as it did on 1141 with some videos, but the frame rate judder is still chaotic with most 1080p files if i have shaders active (YV12upsampling+sharpencomplex2). one example is Utawarerumono_Creditless_OP, problem that i already posted here about 1141. with 1137 GPUWaitTime is between 10-11ms, with 1156 GPUWaitTime is between 10-36ms, one frame its 10ms, the next frame it jumps to 36 and then back to 10-11
with some really demanding files it's not even necessary to enable shaders to get frame drops. on this 13 sec file i get arround 1/3 dropped frames. this is the best sample i have to exemplify the problem introduced with 1141.

1137+shaders ______________ 1156+shaders

my tests have shown that besides files with ReFrames=16 and files with ReFrames=15 and Bpyramid enabled, everything will play with Nvidia and DXVA now on XP. if others confirm this the internal limitation should be updated . still, files with ReFrames=15 and Bpyramid work with CoreAVC 1.9.5

A lot of those are marketing features looking for reasons to exist.

Indexing is a good example. It uses all sorts of PC time to make searches faster. If you do a LOT of searches, maybe you break even, but actually it doesn't take very long to do a search anyway - and I never use MS' search ( I use Agent Ransack by force of habit, but I am sure there are even better ones out there.)

In any event, I have found that for a Home Theater PC, you need to turn off all services and TSRs that are not absolutely necessary. Otherwise, you are watching a video and suddenly it pauses and you see the hard drive light flash for 5-10 seconds and then your video resumes.

I found the regression point: somewhere between SVN 1043 and SVN 1050 ( I don't have any other svn build between this two to test)

P.S. It's just me or the Changelog page it's empty ?! http://mpc-hc.svn.sourceforge.net/vi...c-hc/?view=log

Edit: added a new sample http://sharebee.com/e3a81240 for which eac3to it's reporting a subtitle (srt) too but MPC-HC doesn't "see" the sub ?!

Does anyone know whats is DXVA-HD? This is new in Windows 7. Whats difference to previous DXVA1/2? Nvidia already released beta drivers with support for dxva-hd.

Option "View->On top->While Playing" works only if user cliks on the window. if you stop playing by space or pause button, the window remains on top of all windows.

Hopefully they will make something more usable than dxva at some point(not the horror it currently is, that has to be called at renderer level)

Thanks for that, i did have the problem in the past (so bad that i used the keyboard to navigate DVD's), however with some updates to MPC-HC the problem became almost unnoticable, now i cannot reproduce it anymore at all.

I'm not 100% sure but it appears to be a new version of DXVA with a new overlay renderer. It has been designed from the ground up to support HD formats (apperantly previous DXVA versions where ment for SD). Also it should abstract the videocard functions entirely, meaning the same code will work on all videocards with DXVA-HD drviers.

Here is some information about:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd434675.aspx

As it is part of WDDM1.1 it is only available on Windows7.
It is one of the many cool new things windows7 brings to the table.
Things that could be upgraded that would be cool but break backwards compatibility if they where exclusive are:
-WASAPI (new audio renderer in vista and up)
-Direct2d(replaces GDI(+)available later for vista, part of DirectX11), Could be used as a font overlay renderer, basically giving you any font with any special effect for free.
-Media foundation (the replacement for directshow, vista and up, most notable effect of using this is strongly reduced jitter, especially on a busy system)

There is more but that would force you to use .NET which could have a performance penalty(although i a full .NET application gets a lot of security bonusses)

rev1141 has introduced another positive aspect related to DXVA: i can now use the internal mkv splitter with DXVA decoding of H264, without having horrible stuttering and frame-drops.

1137+internal splitter ___________ 1156+internal splitter

is this another XP only problem?

If you look at the 2 DXVA changes he did you will notice he changed almost every file related to DXVA, what on the surface appears to be a simple fix is lines upon lines of edited code. Still not enough to fix everything on XP

The site does not render in ie8, also does not work in compatibility mode. However in chromium it works perfectly.
