I think this is the correct way.
I use BDSup2Sub for editing the subtitle streams directly in cE. After demuxing you can click the "Playback icon" and the extracted sup-stream is loaded automatically to BDSup2Sub.
I use this very often to check if the forced sups are present/correct set.

Or will your tool mux all manually added SUP files intact (and asign each SUP-stream to it's proper edition).
I guess this is also correct. Editions are more or less a virtual construct. If sup-data and video/audio-data are in synch so all is fine.
Manually added sup streams will be muxed by MTX as a new separate stream, not appended like the m2ts files.

Thanks hubblec4, I go work on it

Edit: I had some trouble before I could get your 'Disc to mkv' tool running. I had to rename BDSup2Sub version 1.02 to exactly 'bdsup2sub++1.0.2_Win32.exe'

Are you deliberately using that old version? I understand that there are younger and enhanced versions for this tool.

Hi von Suppé

Yes I use the original names in cE. But you should not use the ++1.02 win.exe. This version has so many issues for editing the subs. Extracting works.
You should use the latest java version of BDSup2Sub.

hubblec4, can you please confirm then that the latest java version with the original name "BDSup2Sub512.jar" has to be renamed to "bdsup2sub++1.0.2_Win32.exe" to make it work in cE's 'Disc to mkv'? I'm having major doubts if I am doing the right thing here...

The java version must not be renamed!!! You have to set two paths: one for BDSup2Sub folder and one more for java folder -> go to settings -> external programs.

That was I was thinking, and I am trying my *ss off for a while to make it work as it should.
But, as said earlier, after pointing to the folder where I keep BDSup2Sub512.jar, after banging the green start button, I keep getting this error:

bdsup2sub++1.0.2_Win32.exe
External program not found

Edit: maybe I have a fault in my path to java: it's now C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_231\bin

Can you confirm this is the right path (for now)?

this is my path to java.
What is your path to BDSup2Sub (java-version)? maybe is there an issue?

The original file name of for the java version is "BDSup2Sub.jar", so please rename your file (remove the version-number).

Renaming the .jar file did the trick.

Now that things seem to work, I assume that cE has no problem with 32 bit version of java?
I once read you could have both 32 and 64 bit version.
I tried it out but ran into trouble launching .jar files so I went back to install 32 bit only.

Thanks hubblec4 :-)

I can not say which version is necessary for BDSup2Sub. Maybe both 32 or 64 bit working.
I use the 64bit version of java.

I got the latest version after hearing it has the ChaptersDB included (was using a much older version).

Using a disc with a small studio logo m2ts before the full movie m2ts now. The MPLS loader nicely maps out what chapter belongs to which m2ts.
I want to remove the chapter that's associated with the studio logo, and have the rest sync back without it.

I tried "delete chapter" but this leaves the main m2ts chapters at the same time code. e.g first chapter was 00:00:00, 2nd 00:15:00. After I removed the first chapter the 2nd doesn't roll back to 00:00:00.

Is there a way to do this automatically, or do I have to manually use the time adjustment feature? Maybe there is and I couldn't find it.

Deleting chapters with an automatic to shift timestamps is not implemented.

One thing I want to ask is if you could please add an option to link certain predefined chapters names with a language so when using the "Chapter naming" function we can select the predefined chapter name and ChapterEditor would auto select the language we have set for such name, .....
Late, but now it's implemented. Could you test the new feature please?

chapterEditor(cE) rev1.21 is available.
Windows
Linux

There are 2 new features in this update.

First of all, the covers of Blu-ray's can now be used in the BD2mkv editor
and secondly, I have installed "Split chapters" for Matroska, OGG/OGM and multiAVCHD chapter editors as a special tool and as CLI.

Code:
Change chapterEditor

added    &
fixed    *
improved #
changed  %

rev1.21 2020-02-29
// chapterEditor
* Linux: adjusted a few components in the settings because they were too small and the numbers were not visible

# Split chapters - new special tool for Matroska, OGG/OGM and multiAVCHD chapter editors
  - Action range for all tabs
  - Load split chapters in the editor
  - Save split chapters: only works for files
  - 3 split options: After X chapters; individual; by parts
  - Edition number: 0 means split all editions (only for Matroska)
  - New file name
  - a counter and an underscore are used for the split files. File_1; File_2 etc.
  - ShortCut init: STRG+4 (settings)
  - new item in the chapter-TreeView popup

// CLI
& Split chapters
  - Syntax: -S SplitMode split-values [--edition-nr edition number] [--new-name "new file name"] [-i] "file.1" ["file.2" "..."]
  - -S: initializes the chapter split
  - SplitMode: x-chapters, individual, by-parts
  - Split value > x-chapters: a number greater than 1;
  - Split value > individual: an array with comma-separated numbers greater than 1 (5,9,15)
  - Split value > by-parts: an array with comma-separated number pairs(start-end) end=0/or omit means last chapter (1-5,7-12,13-0,20-)
  - --edition-nr: split all chapters of this edition; a value of 0 means split all editions; Default = 1
  - --new-name: new file name without file extension; illegal file characters are automatically removed
  - -i: an input parameter that must be used if several files are to be split, otherwise only the last file is used
  - only Matroska, OGG/OGM and multiAVCHD chapter files can be used
  - Examples:
  - Matroska.xml of all 6 chapters: -S x-chapters 6 "Path/Matroska.xml"
  - Matroska.xml of all 6 chapters from the 2nd edition: -S x-chapters 6 --edition-nr 2 "Path/Matroska.xml"
  - Matroska.xml of all 6 chapters with a new file name: -S x-chapters 6 --new-name "Matroska Split" "Path/Matroska.xml"
  - Matroska.xml individual all editions: -S individual 6,10,15 --edition-nr 0 "Path/Matroska.xml"
  - several files by parts: -S by-parts 1-6,7-10,11-0,7-,3-7 -i "Path/Matroska.xml" "Path/OGG-OGM.txt" "Path/multiAVCHD.txt"

// Chapter Converter
* ShortCut for chapter naming did not work

// Disc2mkv
* mtxcfg file was not created correctly when using file attachments

// BD2mkv
* Ignore last chapter: increased chapter time from 2 seconds to 2.26 seconds
   - Shameless Blu-ray: last chapter has a duration of 2.01 seconds and was not ignored

& Cover files
   - Use Blu-ray cover files as attachments (settings)
   - a list of all covers -> all can be used
   - Move covers
   - Open cover files -> double click or ENTER key
   - Change "Use cover" also by right-clicking or space bar
   - The original file name is used as the attachment description
   - The largest file is used automatically and positioned in the first place

I would suggest to add "remove duplicates" (by time stamp) somewhere.

Don't know why but I am saving my DVD and BD collection to NAS and happens to find lot of duplicated chapters.

A time frame tolerance would be appreciated too (max x seconds with the option of before/later).

Hi tormento

Thanks for your suggestion, it sounds useful.

Identify duplicate timestamps should be easy, also an additional check for a time tolerance.

But the option before/later is not really clear to me. I guess this option is used to decide which chapter is deleted?

Example: Time tolerance = 1 second
Chap 1 : time = 1s -> delete this chapter when option is "before"
Chap 2 : time = 2s -> delete this chapter when option is "after"

The mess happens when there are 2 different chapter lists in the original file, such as in a mkv container in xml format, and someone decide to extract with the wrong tool to ogm/txt.

The chapter lists get mixed up.

In the optimal scenario, the 2 lists are identical and so the cleanup is easy (for you too to code it), in the worst case the 2 lists differs and there is where a real mess happens.

I really don't know how to deal with that. Perhaps highlighting with different colors the row of similar (in time) chapter time within a specific time frame.

Highlighting is maybe the best way, because an automatic for deleting never knows what a user want.
But deleting all highlighted chapters manually is also cumbersome.
Maybe is a combination of both possible.

I have added the request to my TODO list, but please be patient it could take a while. Rev 1.22 is more or less ready and I hope I have time next week for upload.

Please add CTRL+click multiple line selection and a keyboard shortcut for delete.

Multiple line selections is indeed a feature what I miss by my self.
I had used Mosu's Chapter Editor as template and there is also no multiple line selection supported.

There is already a hotkey for deleting chapters(DEL button as default) and you can change it in the settings.
