DVD Decrypter will live Forever...with a little help.

I posted this in another thread, but I believe it deserves it's own thread as to many people are saying that DVDD is going the way of the Dodo bird.

The following is from the author of CloneDVD:

Quote:
I would be happy if you use CloneDVD, but dispite common believe you can combine AnyDVD with DVDDecrypter as well.
Just do the following:

1.) Use ElbyCDIO as the I/O model.
2.) Disable the structural protection removal in DVDDecrypter.

DVDDecrypter will see the disc as unprotected and will continue to work... forever.

So, as is apparent we can continue to use DVD Decrypter Forever. However, we would have to purchase AnyDVD to work with it.

You can get AnyDVD Here

I am not marketing AnyDVD. I just wanted to show that there was an available way to continue to use DVDD.

Lightning UK! obviously had AnyDVD in mind or he would not have made available the I/O option.

Regards,

Excellent info. to have! Thanks very much. I've tried using these 2 progs in combination before but it didn't seem to work. I didn't know that I would need to change Decrypter settings to do it.

AnyDVD and CloneDVD are both excellent programs. I hope AnyDVD will continue to be updated and stay safe from lawsuits.

Thx,

-abs

addendum: BTW, anyone know if similar setting adjustments might be necessary in order to use Decrypter in conjunction with something like DVD43?

AnyDVD development is located in Antigua where it is perfectly legal to make backup copies of DVD's. It is, also, constantly updated.

So, as I stated DVDD will be able to be used "Ad infinitum", with the help of AnyDVD.
Regards,

P.S. I deleted the original post, as it was not needed since I started this thread
about DVDD. (For those looking for it).

Can a similar proceedure be adopted to link free tools, such as DVD For Free (DVD 43) to DVD Decrypter?

Cheers

Well...

I think the best way to "solve" the problem is to join an (european) open source backup software, so the author' knowledge will not wasted.

What about FairUse ??

That is the one that is indicated.
Regards,

P.S. I notice that in some other threads the self-serving are trying to take advantage of the problems of LIGHTNING UK! and DVD Decrypter to make a few dollars.

I feel certain the method is attainable. However, it is beyond my ability, at present.

Maybe some of the more knowledgeable amongst us could give some advice.

Well it seems as if DVD43 has released some source code to DvDidle so we can use this tool to Decrypt for Free. Try it Here. It works with ARccOS.

Regards,

P.S. A little cross post, but it is relevent. I started a thread in the "One click DVD backup solutions" forum.

Make sure you have the latest version. Then click on Tools, Settings and then on the General TAB uncheck check for structure protection. Do also Remove Structure Protection on the File, ISO and ISO Read Mode tab.

MeridiusUK:
In the settings of DVD Region+CSS Free, you have a list of programs that actually work together...
DVD Decrypter is, by default, not added in this list, if you want to make them work together, you have to add DVD Decrypter manually.
Greetings!
