How Do I ?? Get Rid Of Text Menu
Guys, I am sure that many people like me own a Panasonic DVD recorder
you know the ones.. the ones that look like a video recorder. Now anybody that has one of these will swear that the kit is good and picture quality is very good, excellent on 2hr mode.. however what lets this bit of kit down - is the crap text menu system it uses when selecting different recordings... IE: Say for example you want to back up a movie you own, no problem first thing to get around is Macrovision, just use a Macmaster scart lead - this normally does the trick. Now insert blank into Recorder and press play on stand alone playback machine.. in my case I am using a Pioneer DV444s. When ready, press record on Panasonic machine at point you wish film to start, now this could be the menu of the DVD... Next, film has say played to end and you press stop. Brilliant you now have a DVDR with your backed up film. Now when you insert this DVDR into your DVD player, your PS2, your Xbox or whatever you will every time be presented with a nice blue text menu, with details of what you have recorded. To the point, (about time) I know... I want to get rid of this text menu, now after testing I have come to the conclusion that the text menu is always embedded in Vob_01.vob or whatever, I proved this when I recorded the Lewis kick the Feck Out Of Tyson Fight, I removed the first set of vobs, and played the remaining bobs with PowerDVD on my PC.. after which I created a new set of IFO's and again it played straight into the fight, no text menu. My point is, is there anyway I could author a menu say in DVD Workshop and insert this into the start of the DVDR.. where I took the text menu out of. As in the end what I want to get to, is the ability to maybe choose to put 1-2 or 3 movies per DVD.. with a custom menu. Guys, tell me this is possible, remove old text menu, from first vob set and replace with new custom authored menu, then relink using IFoedit.. Just a thought, anybody done anything like this. |

sounds reasonable, record to a DVD-RW, then take it to the computer and edit the menu out of Video_ts.vob or VTS_01_0.vob (whereever the menu is), im not familiar with ifo edit, but even demuxing the vobs off the dvdr and putting them into maestro should work nicely.
