Oh, don't we just love spending hours of our time to write software for people who can't even be assed to spend a few seconds to read a few postings before babbling off? ;-)
Two things: 1) Aspect Ratio tweaks will never work on the PS3 (hello nHD!), pixels in AVC are always supposed to be squared. One exception though: 1440x1080. Supposedly this is the one resolution where Sony allows non-square pixels (cause some of their own cameras record in that res! ;-) 2) What's all this stuff about a "Mac Version" of MultiAVCHD for a "Windows Emulator" in MacOS? Why would you need a custom version if it runs in an Emulator? Wasn't that the whole point about emulators, to run software as-is? Apart from stuff doing low-level hardware access I couldn't think of any program that will not run in VirtualPC, VMware etc!... |

@kaid:
I beg to differ about AR. I encoded several tvshows at 720*576 in AVC, set the AR in h264info at '4' and muxed with audio. This plays as anamorphic on PS3 (streaming with TVersity) so in this casethe pixels are not square (1:1.4222). Check on the AVCHD information site http://www.avchd-info.org/format/index.html. Videosignals 480/60i and 576/50i can be played both at 4:3 and at 16:9. |

deank just a heads up:
Seems my tests give mixed results. removing the nal-hrd might not be the good thing to do. I think we need help / or another muxer that does parse the stream, and places correct nal-hrd units. Last edited by G_M_C; 22nd January 2009 at 10:15. |

@Solaris: streaming or playing via XMB has nothing to do with AVCHD playback. Also about AVCHD 16:9 or 4:3 - these are ARs but pixels might still be sqare. Can you send me a sample to check it myself?
@kaid: about the emulators... I'm using a free program tool to create multiAVCHD - it is called CalcIt. I have no control over how the core handles some operations. When I use sockets/http - multiAVCHD crashes in windows emulator under MacOS. |

Sorry to insist about this but, when I play, on the PS3, the m2ts file inside the AVCHD disk the video is centered (black bars at the top and bottom) but if the disk plays automatically the video is aligned at the top. Does anybody know how this can be fixed?

deank great idea, very nice work!
I tested it with 2 titles, created multiBD with PAL lite menu on DVD+RW. Both titles was NC. The settings was all defaults, except <delete temp> and <move files> was off. There was no alerts in log. On Samsung BD-P1500 multiBD DVD+RW works almost perfect with visible menu with two titles, both playable. On Sony PS3 (BIOS.2.51 and 2.60) all I can see is your menu background image with no titles. There is no way to select title. I checked tutorial and quickly looked over past 24 pages, but still have no idea, what is wrong. I'm very sorry if I'm overlooked something. |

I'm rearranging the Authoring tab.
It looks like a mess and it is not clear (to new users) how to create * the old motion menu * lite menu with all titles shown * lite menu with used titles only * lite menu with custom title names I'll try to add option to chose color for title names... and some other things. |

Hello Deank,
The new menu works fine with AVCHD folder on a usb stick on the PS3, i tested it with 2 5 second clips. It also works with PowerDVD on the PC. By the way, the 720x576 PAL anamorphic problem seems to have been solved. It now plays the short clips on PS3 in widescreen as it should. I will try again later this evening with some more clips, also some 720*480 NTSC anamorphic shows. I'll let you know what the outcome is. Good show old boy! |
