Superbowl PVR to PC problem

I have a DCT 6412 (Shaw Canada) and can stream plenty of stuff to my PC through firewire. I then view it in HDTVtoMPEG and convert. However, when I transfer the latest superbowl I get a huge file (as expected) but it converts to nothing.

What is going on? Also, is it possible to take the file directly from the hard drive? Does Windows understand the hard drive format?

What version of HDTVtoMPEG are you using? there are some very old versions floating around on the web. Are you selecting the right stream when using it?

v1.11.89 ... I must have an old version because I don't have the option to select a stream. I just drag and drop my file into the ap and go from there. It works for all other captures except this one.

Latest version v1.11.94 found there

By stream I mean the video and audioo PID. Say if you have a transport stream with 3 different embedded streams, you can select the stream you want to extract.

I tried the latest version and no improvement. There is only only 1 audio and video pid so I have no options.

Any suggestions?
