Aud-X: Installation problems info
For those who had problems with installing Aud-X DirectShow decoder.
The problem was caused probably by not up to date elements of WinXP. -- Please try to install the newest version of Internet Explorer. This should end up in fixing the problem. -- If this does not, please let me know. ====================================================== With regard to the users requests, Aud-X DirectShow decoder has been modified, so now: 1) It does not conflict with FFDshow audio, 2) It does not conflict with AC3filter. Please download the new installation from our web site: www.aud-x.com Thank you.

Did you try the latest installer?
(this one has around 2 MB size). The audxdshow.ax should be placed in windows\system32 (please make sure that it is there)

Well, yes. You can use the Aud-X frontend
start->programs->Aud-X chose ENCODE tab and you can feed the encoder with a 6 channel PCM. --- You can generate such 6 channel PCM with for example BeSweet.

There are three ways to play Aud-X surround sound (or at least stereo or mono sound) on your external home theatre system:
1) Play the AVI with Aud-X stream with the use of your DVD player, and you will hear stereo (or mono - depending on the Aud-X encoding quality option) 2) Play the sound from your PC with your sound soundcard conected (via SPDiF) to the external receiver (the external home theatre amplifier) and chosing such an option in our DirectShow decoder. The amplifier will recognize the stream as Dolby Digital 5.1 3) Demux the Aud-X stream. Convert it to AC3 (with our frontend). Put it back to AVI container. Play it on your DVD DivX hardware player
