You don't need Sonic anymore.
Most recent version of eac3to has been updated to not need Sonic. libdcadec is the default now. https://www.videohelp.com/software/e...tory#changelog Quote:

are you sure? i compressed what i think is the DTS-MA track as well as what i'm sure is the DTS Core track (and recompressed with FLAC level 8 as i had no idea what level eac3to was using) and they ended up within 400KBytes of each other (268.4 vs 268.8MB)
edit: also, here's the spectrograph (top is DTS Core): https://imgur.com/p3Hu0hg Code:
C:\path>eac3to c:\path\GenerationKill\Disc1\00002.m2ts .\gk-ep1_.flac -downstereo -down16 M2TS, 1 video track, 4 audio tracks, 9 subtitle tracks, 1:08:23, 24p /1.001 1: h264/AVC, 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9) 2: DTS Master Audio, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 48kHz (core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 1509kbps, 48kHz) 3: DTS, 2.0 channels, 768kbps, 48kHz 4: DTS, 2.0 channels, 768kbps, 48kHz 5: DTS, 2.0 channels, 768kbps, 48kHz 6: Subtitle (PGS) 7: Subtitle (PGS) 8: Subtitle (PGS) 9: Subtitle (PGS) 10: Subtitle (PGS) 11: Subtitle (PGS) 12: Subtitle (PGS) 13: Subtitle (PGS) 14: Subtitle (PGS) Track 2 is used for destination file "gk-ep1_.flac". a02 Extracting audio track number 2... a02 Decoding with libDcaDec DTS Decoder... a02 libDcaDec reported the warning "XLL output not lossless". a02 Downmixing multi channel audio to stereo... a02 Reducing depth from 64 to 16 bits... a02 Encoding FLAC with libFlac... a02 Creating file ".\gk-ep1_.flac"... a02 Clipping detected, a 2nd pass will be necessary. a02 The original audio track has a constant bit depth of 24 bits. a02 The processed audio track has a constant bit depth of 16 bits. a02 Starting 2nd pass... a02 Extracting audio track number 2... a02 Decoding with libDcaDec DTS Decoder... a02 libDcaDec reported the warning "XLL output not lossless". a02 Downmixing multi channel audio to stereo... a02 Reducing depth from 64 to 16 bits... a02 Encoding FLAC with libFlac... a02 Applying -1.97dB gain... a02 Creating file ".\gk-ep1_.flac"... a02 The processed audio track has a constant bit depth of 16 bits. Yes, we are sure.
The lossless decode and the lossy decode can be with the same size, one exact and other not. Much more after a -downstereo -down16. Also the spectrograph don't say nothing. I make many test encoding sources with DTS Master Audio and obtaining bitexact decodes with libdcadec, even better than using ArcSoft decoder with some bit rounding unexact.
