ffdshow has been abandoned for years, it doesn't support any modern instruction sets or any sort of HDR.

You seem to confuse "codec" (encoder / decoder) and "pack".
K-Lite is a collection of many different decoders from many different authors, for many different purposes. It even included ffdshow as multi-format decoder. If you had read this thread before asking, you would know that the next evolutionary step after ffdshow is "LAV Filters". Look at nevcairiel's signature. |

Well, this may rather be a request for LAV Filters than a complaint in the ffdshow thread, which is futile now, as it is abandoned...
And, as just explained, the "K-Lite pack" is only a collection. It is not decoder software on its own. The author of the K-Lite pack did not develop a codec. Last edited by LigH; 21st September 2017 at 10:07. |

encoded that can not be directed seriously like FFDSHOW
for me it's a big problem! because LAV Filters Does not bring quality in image or sound! he plays everything, but not quality why are there no encoders you can tune like FFDSHOW ??? it's a shame to see that there are no groups to develop good, serious encoders that can be directed . too bad that no one buys the FFDSHOW and develops the encoders for money . I would be happy to pay FFDSHOW money for quality encoders |

Why use madVR FFDSHOW does everything better (although not updated from 2014) that means a lot not good things about development i'm trying to direct the madVR not contributing anything good maybe someone here has a right direction for madVR? For OLED ? which computer processor is good for madVR ? i have an OLED screen that I must say is not worth anything to the computer maybe because all VGA cards are not WRGB and RGB the LG processor is bad UPSCALE LG Worse there are no good shades there are no grays contras are bad Last edited by hogtop; 25th September 2017 at 16:23. |

you want to calibrate a video card ( RGB/YCbCr )to the WRGB screen there are large backlight ( oled light) issues in the OLED, there are brightness issues Not to mention that LG's algorithm system is very poor and distorted image Quote:
not every playback device is using YCbCr and RGB OLED TV have only YCbCr but it has a problem that the OLED color is WRGB and that does not work out very well at calibration. Quote:
1. madVR adds different types of noise in the image 2. madVR Causes problems of uneven sound to the lips 3. madVR running it takes up to 26% of CPU power not GPU 4. madVR in LED works better Quote:

I paid for 2 professional calibrations for $ 600 and got a worse picture! I said maybe I'll learn from others by their calibration It turns out that no one really knows how to calibrate OLED and they all invent stories : Home Theater Geeks 324: Leo's LG OLED Followup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBDun9fbEWU&t=355s In program 323, they made a professional calibration with equipment worth $ 35,000 on a $ 4000 screen and they did not succeed, in they site published the results of the calibration was discovered inaccuracies, lack of professionalism, irrationality and for 60 minutes (In program 324 ) they told 100 stories and they promised to calibrate OLED again and tell about results, which did not happen !!! ( Most of the experts in their forum who raised the problems in their calibration that the results are illogical - were deleted from the forum !!! ) now ask but no forum does not register the truth? 1. The OLED UK and USA forums are managed by PRs, eliminating any question or problem in OLED! 2. LG pays a lot of money to publicists, site owners and mute people! the trips to exhibitions abroad + hotels LG pays them. Note: OLED shows full Blu-ray through OPPO in quality ! but any other video that is not Blu-ray , full of problems |

i know it not a good idea to answer any of this delusion so i make it short.
an oppo (and every other BD player) send RGB or YCbCr like any other PC gaming console and settop box. this is the fundamental of video processing and this is missing so nothing more to say. |

I used a Display 3 Pro I profiled on my TV with a i1 pro2. My white point looks very good, contrast is amazing, and my gamma is a near perfect pure power 2.4. The highest error is at ~2 dE and most colors are <1 dE (DCI-P3, D65, BT.1886), and that is before madVR with a 3DLUT. I am not sure why your professional calibrator failed so badly but it did take me some experimenting with my TV's options to figure how what to tweak and what to leave alone. Using the TV's color management was not good, nor was using its 20-point white point adjustment. However, the two point white point adjustment worked quite well and I was able to get a near perfect gray scale, every patch in the entire 21 point gray scale was <1 dE. I do have some minor banding I was unable to get rid of but otherwise I am very happy with the image quality and its before software calibration. Of course this might not be the case with older models but it isn't a problem calibrating OLED TVs in general.

Can side left, side right, and back center be added to the Convolver module?
It seems if the Convolver module order is moved after Mixer, Convolver doesn't function properly, at least for back left and back right.

What's the latest version of ffdshow?
I know that ffdshow was abandoned a long time ago, and then I think that ffdshow-tryouts was created and updated. So... I think my question should be, what's the latest version of ffdshow-tryouts? (I need it for SVP playback with DirectShow-based media players) |

I vaguely remember the raw video/audio filters don't have shortcuts added to the start menu. Someone must have told me how to create them manually if that's the case. I'm running XP, so for me the raw video processor shortcut is: C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\ffdshow\ffdshow.ax",configureRaw and for audio it's C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\ffdshow\ffdshow.ax",configureAudioRaw I can't remember if they can be installed separately, but you can do much the same for other players by disabling all the codecs in the regular filters except for raw video/audio. Last official release or recommended version. http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/download.php Wikipedia says the latest is rev.4533 https://www.videohelp.com/software/ffdshow But rev.4534 can be found via the last two links here. It the same version as in the codec pack, according to the K-Lite website. https://www.free-codecs.com/ffdshow_download.htm Last edited by hello_hello; 13th February 2020 at 03:23. |
