@KyleK
Install the stand alone filters in system32 folder but just "mpcvideodec.ax" from rev 629 and register it then use the program again to see the results, something like this. Right click near the red dxva and use the apropriate renderer, dxva1=vmr9/7 and dxva2=evr.

This FLV of the Pixar short, "Presto" makes MPC-HC crash big time as soon as it attempts to play it.
http://rapidshare.com/files/12759662...o_short_HD.flv Tested with r637. EDIT: It also makes the stable r604 release crash too Last edited by neoufo51; 7th July 2008 at 03:30. |

Version Numbers & Testing Suite
I think a lot of the recent traffic in this thread is due to people jumping onto the latest build version, but those are coming out too fast. Perhaps a rc should be released and tested. I've got movies that worked that now causing mpc-hc to crash. Maybe a test suite could be made, like videos of different types, and then after a quick run through the playlist, it exits, the .ini file is changed to the next one (to test the next renderer, etc.), and so forth. I think it would require someone to watch it. |

@clsid:
regarding the selection between DXVA or internal FFmpeg, I discovered that it works OK with rev604, but not on the newer revisions where you attempted to seperate the functionality. I guess some work is needed to separate the DXVA completely from the FFmpeg decoder.

I then disabled all internal transform filters in MPC-HC, to see if it loads the external filter, but no such luck. When looking at the "External filters" list and hitting "Add Filter...", the external decoder is not listed either. Playing a H.264 video, MPC falls back to the internal filter (even though it should be disabled), and the problem mentioned earlier is present again. I'm at a loss. I used to register filters this way all the time. I have no idea why Windows wouldn't properly register the external decoder. |

No, it does not have postprocessing (not counting the shader functionality).

I then unregistered both codecs and then registered v 1.1.0.0 codecs from sourceforge, then replaced those .ax files with the new versions which didn't work before, after that I was able to play all .m2ts files. you could try this, register the one from soundfourge, and then overwrite it. and check the codecs tab if H264 is checked.

As the others allready said between 631 and 634 something bad happened to the DXVA part it's totaly corrupted playback now Sys: Windows XP Sp3 GFX: 8800 GT Driver: 177.41 Renderer: VMR9 (windowed) 631 from XvidVideo.ru is the last version that works for me useing 634 and it's only corruption.

Does this corruption happen in every file? I tried a few files today with rev638 and did not notice anything.
