The problem does not happen in 032 providing I have aero enabled. and does not happen at all in windowed mode. |

For the life of me I could not get the issue with queues not filling correctly to happen in the debug build. |

I can also easily get 0.32 to freeze when looping an A/B section in exclusive mode w/ PotPlayer...but it never freezes w/ the debug version
After +10 loops, it freezes at the end of the loop and I have to kill PotPlayer from the task manager. Last edited by leeperry; 17th October 2010 at 18:33. |

I tried everything I could think of to replicate with the debug version but like you I could not. Its good to know somone else has simuler issues but I never had the freeze issue with 032 yet but maybe the issue you talk about there is due to the loop. When it freezed for me in 034 there was no looping involved.

It's depends on your taste. Try playing with scaling option. I prefer sharper image so mine's spline64 for luma.

Hello:
I'm excited about this video renderer, but I get a lot of stuttering that I think isn't due to not enough power, because the same videos (mkv at 720p o 1080p) can be played smoothly with EVR. wxpsp3 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 Nvidia gforce 8400 GS KMplayer/Potplayer + CoreAVC + CUDA Is it supposed to be power enough? Can I try with some specific configuration? Another question: Is it possible to use pixel shaders with madvr? because it seems that are not used even they are checked in whatever player. sorry if this question has been answered before. |

... The scaling algorithms that madVR uses are more complicated and require a more powerful GPU to use than with EVR. Nvidia gforce 8400 GS CoreAVC + CUDA .... If you have <512MB video RAM, then disable CUDA or Aero, or both. Another question: Is it possible to use pixel shaders with madvr? .... If you mean MPC-HC's pixel shaders, then no. |

although madshi discussed a lot about hdmi initially, as i dont have much knowledge, i cudnt go deep & thus here are some simple questions..
1. does hdmi features like deep color, xvycc etc.. make a noticeable difference? 2. Is hdmi 1.4 or newer (1.4a) have any important/significant feature improvement over 1.3/1.3a so that i should emphasize 1.4 while buying a graphics card; if my preference are better colors & quality? 3. If a graphics card natively supports both hdmi & dvi & i use a dvi to dvi cable, will i get the hdmi features like deep color, xvycc etc? If not, how about a dvi to hdmi cable? (graphics card dvi to monitor's hdmi) |

Personally the next gfx card I buy will need to support full 1080p at 120hz over hdmi, I think only the latest spec can do this. |

Hi, my first post here!
First off, great renderer madshi, much better PQ than EVR CP! The most major issue I have with madVR is that in my two-display setup, if my TV is set at 24Hz, then on that display MPC-HC becomes very unresponsive (and I'm not confusing this with the apparent sluggishnesss due to the low refresh rate), the player hangs on seeking, and there are problems with pausing/stopping immediately. The only way to overcome this "hang" is by clicking on the first display (PC monitor), which revives the player into action. All this in windowed mode though, exclusive (full screen) seems to be good. If I set the refresh rate of my TV to 60Hz, though, everything works properly, in both windowed and exclusive mode. |

I have the same problem. Apparently opening the file on the 60Hz then transferring it over (even if paused) to a 24Hz leads to massive stuttering etc. The fix is to drag the folder to the 24Hz display and open it there. madVR does not switch displays properly I think from one to another.

I've tried moving MPC-HC to the 24Hz display, stopped the file, and then double click on the mkv file again but the problem still persists. But my issue isn't with the video itself, rather the player becomes unresponsive and unusable.

@Gun N' Roses: that situation is a known problem with Aero. I have a similar setup myself, though I don't exactly have stability problem. Just make sure you use exclusive mode. Or, alternatively, turn aero off.
