you mean without the need for an external plugin, like PPs plugin ? I dont use winamp ( for various reasons ) so i am not very familiar with it .... a link to a news page or so would have been nice Chibi . I'd also like to know ( for those of you having 5.1 soundcards ) if the channel mapping is the same as Tobias is using ? Anybody to make a short test ? Thanks ...

Sorry, no 5.1 equipment here :-/

But it's nice to have native OGG Vorbis support in winamp finally, this will help the acceptance of this nice format big time!

Hm, and the link is:

http://www.winamp.com/ , and there following the "New Features" link (can't post a link here as that page is a java servlet generated one with session id in it )

But I can't see winamp 2.80 there? Just 2.79?

Regards,
Koepi

* included PP's hacks for slightly better unicode filename support

That was my point though I am personally not that interested in Vorbis since AAC is already approved for the future as standard format in MPEG-4 specs.

WEll couldn't found winamp 2.80 also, that link gets me to nowhere. Tryed Winamp 3 beta3 but that didn't mention nothing about ogg, its the same as older versions with Ogg plugin (on Ogg 6ch the voices are placed in FrontRight and RearRight).

Vorbis is not built in to winamp. PP's plugin will now be distributed with the standard or Full installs. 2.80 finally made it to winamp.com. 3 days later. Pays to read HA.
