Goldmember not showing up other languages

Hi @ll!

I have a weird problem with Goldmember RC-2. In different ripping tools it shows up 3 languages (Smartripper, even the GUI-Version of vStrip):
- German
- English
- English (Directors Comment)

I want to do a German/English conversion but in DVD2SVCD it only shows up the German language 0x80 and not the other twos. It is all the same switching between internal routines and vstrip. Currently using ver 1.1.1 build 1 but also the problem appears with 1.1.2 build 1.

As the problem already exists before any conversion I am not able to include a log-file into this message.

I already tried to do a ripping with the GUI version of vStrip and then reading the IFO with DVD2SVCD but the problem is still there!

Any one encountered the same problem?

I have the Region 0 version and everything loads correctly. I can choose between multiple languages. Have you tried using DVD Decrypter and see what languages you can get?

DVD encrypter shows up 3 PGCs for the mail movie:
PGC1: German audio
PGC2: English
PGC3: English (directors comment).
A video file is located in all three PGCs + subtitles

How to get out the language out of PGC1 AND PGC2?

Are you sure you are loading the right IFO file?

Instead of having DVD2SVCD find it automatically load it manually by clicking on the folder icon instead of the disc icon.

Maybe you are accidently loading an extra or something.

In this case it is definetly the right IFO (VTS_06_0.IFO). Either locating it manually or letting DVD2SVCD taking over it. The length is right, the preview, too. I already done a test conversation with only German language. But as the translation is not quite good I would be looking forward to add English too... :/

I would recomed trying this then.

Rip only with DVD2SVCD into a directory and erase the IFO file. Then using IFOedit create a new IFO. Finally use this newly created ifo to convert the movie with DVD2SVCD. You will need to know which is the right language, because the newly created IFO won't give it a name. It will simply say 1,2,3.

When DVD2SVCD rips the VOB's it will rip all the languages even if you only tell it to convert 1. The demuxing of the audio happens after the VOB's have been ripped to the HD.

Must be something strange in the IFO.

I'm a very beginner to using DVD2SVCD BUT I have been making Svcd's for quiet a while, so when I opened up DVD2SVCD, It was kinda easy to set everything up, BTW, very very very excellent program, I was looking around the settings and the program asked as to what subtitles I would like to rip, or the 2nd Audio track [Commentary] and I THINK, I THINK, I did everything good, selected what I wanted the program to rip, the program asked me if the subtitles I selected were right, I choose OK, and when everything finally got done, all I had was the normal movie...I tried switching to the different Audio track that was supposidly had been ripped and it didn't seem to work, I tried swicthing the subtitles, they as well don't seem to be coming up, as I mentioned before, I am very new to actually Ripping DVD's because I have just gotten a new Custom Built Tower, and really don't know the techinalities, so IF someone could please clarify, explain, or guide me somewhere...overall the movie came out superb...for more help with the explanation here is the log...

SVCD Subtitles Do Work....

Well the good thing is that my DVD Player DOES support SVCD Selectable Subtitles, BUT it does not support CVD Subtitles, even though the CVD movie works fine...also I was looking around in the Subtitles menu and selected the appropritae settings, and previewed them and they seem to be fine, I will try to rip again, and will reply back If a solution is found...feel free to jump in if anyone likes...

P.S:- One of the posts said that you can not select subtitles, on your PC, using PowerDVD or WinDVD, is that true ..?

Hello!

Please donīt jump into a thread, that has nothing to do with your problem, but start a new one.

about subtitles:
Whatīs your exact problem? Do you see subtitles on your TV now?
Personally i donīt know any software player that supports selectable subs for svcds, and only a few standalones do so. So, if you are sure your player supports svcd subtitles, they will show up, if you select them.

about audio:
According to your log, you have selected only one audiostream. Make sure, you select both languages you want to rip under the conversion - tab. Itīs not enough to check audio1 and audio2 under the audio - tab.

If this doesnīt solve the problem, start a new thread and point out clearly, what you want to know.
