Source seems to be progressive and interlaced mixed

As title suggests, but scanning frame-by-frame looks like the progressive frames are badly deinterlaced frames?

I demuxed the video with DGIndex with Honor Pulldown flags ticked and iDCT set to IEEE-1180.

I've read through the tutorial and reference manual for the Decomb plugin but cant get it to look right

heres a sample: http://www.divshare.com/download/6111388-bd5

thanks.

That's funny, it looks like a music video to me. Are you sure you uploaded the correct clip and/or provided the correct link?

Yes a lot of "Bonus Material" on region 'PAL' dvds is just rough as guts bash converted.

Get the 'NTSC' region version of the disk, and work from that.
