mpeg file size too big for cd-rw disk?

hello

first time user i have finally got my mpeg file split into 3 chapters but require 950mb of diskspace. Is it possible to compress these file or have i done something wrong in the converson process

U mean DivX mpeg4? Or mpeg1/2? If it is DivX movie and u have 3 950mb files u are using too high bitrate or u have leaved the audio uncompressed??

start over and dont use so high a bitrate setting, trying a bitrate calculator
