Viewing DivX on Mac OS X ...?

Hey Gang.

I've been lurking for quite a while now, and this is my first actual post, so please be gentle. My wife and I are getting a new PowerMac G4 to replace our existing PC. I have a bunch of DivX movies that I've worked long and hard to encode (e.g., Futurama Season 1 DVD Box Set, Father Ted Seasons 1 & 2 DVD Set, etc.), and I want to make sure I'll be able to view them just as well in OSX.

Does anyone out there have expierence viewing (i.e., decoding) DivX movies in OSX? There doesn't seem to be a guide or FAQ on the site, and I cannot find any other posts in these forums dealing with this issue. My initial research has come up with Dr. DivX (or something to that effect), a porgram that converts .avi/.divx extensions into .3ivx extensions that QuickTime can play. Has anyone with OSX tried this, and if so, does it look just as good as it would in Windows? Some people using Dr. DivX have mentioned audio stuttering problems post conversion. Is this the case?

Any advice or comments are much appreciated. I must say that I really enjoy doom9.net and deeply appreciate all the hard work that the moderators put into the forums. Keep it up.

Cheers,
RW
