Need help on "hacking" IFOs and VOBs
Here's the case I'm having trouble with:
Demux a VOB to m2v and ac3 Make a new m2v (original was letterbox, new is widescreen), about the same size as the original Make a new VOB set using DVD Maestro (compile as usual, so subs or anything fancy) Copy new VOBs to original VIDEO_TS The whole point was to convert an extra feature from letterbox to widescreen, while keeping everything else as per original. At first I used IFOedit to remux new m2v, but I had all sorts of trouble (I posted a yet unanswered thread) so I thought of the above way. Now, everything is A-OK, I have the original menus and everything and the new widescreen feature plays fine, but when it ends, instead of returning back to the "extra features" menu, it either crashes PowerDVD or it just stops. Is there anything I can do about it? I have tried copying original IFO and BUP (but to be used with the new VOBs) changing the video stream type in IFOedit, but I get the same result. Perfect playback, crash or stop after it ends. I have also tried keeping original VTS_04_0.VOB and using new VTS_04_1.VOB but I still have the same result. I have done "Get VTS sectors" in all occasions, this obviously is not enough. Any tip/help/idea is more than welcome... Cheers Last edited by SupaCoopa; 19th January 2004 at 15:38. |

Try to check the command table of the extra feature's PGC, especially post commands.
It looks like there's something wrong with them, so compare them to the original IFO's ones.

U haven't recreated the exact structure of the re-authored extra. There r post commands that can?t be initiated as it is now.
Anyway I haven't read to your problem description any reference to ifoupdate and ifoedit after remerging the new vobs with the original titleset.

Geia sou Oddyseus
I have done "Get VTS sectors" on all occassions in IFOedit, a lot of sectors get corrected but that didn't solved the problem. IFOupdate... hmmm... never exactly found out how this thing works. Might give it a try but I really have no clue about what should I do. I have tried an other way, compiled in Maestro and specified "end action" of going back to the start of the same clip. I copied that Maestro IFO to new VIDEO_TS, renamed it accordingly and now when PowerDVD reaches the end of the clip, it doesn't stop or hang. Goes straight back to the start and replays and (this is the weird stuff) if I select Title Menu (from the right click menu) it returns to the "Extras" menu, which is where I want to make it go after finishing playing the clip. Now, if only someone could tell me where the POST command is residing in the IFO and how I could change it to point to the "Extras" menu, or at least the Title one... |

Open the VTS_0?_0.IFO of the titleset that contains your extra.
Go to VTS_PGCITI ---> VTS_PGC_? (the pgc that contains your extra) in the upper part of the screen (the tree view). Scroll down in the low part of the screen until you reach PGC Command Table. Have a look at the post commands. You should have something like: Code:
(CallSS VTSM) Call TitleSet root-menu [30 08 00 00 00 83 00 00 ] Code:
(CallSS VTSM) Call TitleSet root-menu [Resume Cell: 1] [30 08 00 00 01 83 00 00 ] Give it a try, but I'm not sure it's correct, I still don't know DVD commands very well...
