TV applications typically have their own source filter and mpegts demuxer, therefor LAV Splitter doesnt really fit into that picture to begin with.
LAV Audio might work with it, depending on the source filter. If the source unpacks the PES data, it will work, if the source directly sends the PES stream without unpacking, it will not. FWIW, DVBViewer works fine with LAV Audio and LAV CUVID.

LAV very bad with this sample http://www.multiupload.com/MV7RNMR1LW:
1 - playback don't start, black video in MPC-HC 2 - second video stream detect with error. 3 - detect many "fake" subtitle. Play fine with MPC-HC internal splitter.

if you wait a few seconds (10-15) the video will come. Or you can disable "Fast Channel Switching" in Options -> TV + Radio and it will work suddenly but you'll get a black screen in between. I thought it was only me that had problems with this fast channel switching but I guess it was actually LAV CUVID that is taking too long to adapt/switch ... or potentially clear it's buffers. Nev, do you use DVBViewer? Is there anything that can be done to improve it?

@Aleksoid Can you fix MPC-HC's MPEG splitter to detect the DTS Express audio too ?

Nevcaireiel, is it possible as a feature to implement in the Lavfilters splitters a method of switching video streams for Bluray - for example my King Kong, Mirrors and Gladiator bluray have more one version - Theatrical, Directors Cut and/or Extended cuts on one BD. When using MPC-HC to play the disk it always defaults to playing the longer version. Can you implement that feature of stream switching or is that something i should be asking the MPC-HC coder(s)

Do you think that changing the merits will correct this problem? |

Nev, I you have planned output bit depth selection for the future, right? If so, could you please consider an option akin to ffdshow's "16-bit LPCM" (not "16-bit integer")? I've just found out that PowerDVD 8's audio decoder can connect to ffdshow's 16-bit LPCM output in order to apply Dolby Headphone, which as far as I can tell is the only way to get DH in a DirectShow player (foobar2000 does it by way of the Cyberlink DH dll).
If it's not too much to ask |

BTW, the MPC-HC splitter doesn't detect the second video stream at all on the beginning, it just finds it after a few seconds of playback. I think its either broken, or the stream starts really late in the file, i am filtering video streams without a resolution now. Anyhow, i also increased the size of the probe buffer, which makes it detect the stream.

I do not care about any interaction with a seriously locked down application like WMC. Its a horrible player as it is.

The default merit is so high that it will most likely be considered in every graph that isn't explicitly built with direct connections. |
