anyway of removing licenses from a asf file ?
not sure if this is in the correct topic but here goes
got a few asf files on my h-drive , but when i play these it says aquiring license , license aquired etc , if i try play on a friends comp it asks for a username / pass ( to the site i got em from ) so im presuming if i cancel my membership i cant watch these files anymore is there anyway to remove these licenses , by either cutting the files or converting em ? if anyone wants a sample of one of these files to work with PM me cheers for any help |

You could try to render them using AVISynth and open it in VDub...

ok i got graphedit , clicked render mediafile , opened my asf file
and got this error msg could not construct graph from this file -have you installed all necessary filters -note render option cant render grf files error code (0xc00d00c8) trying avisynth i get same error code |

You could try playing the file in Media Player Classic and see if you can use GraphEdit to 'Connect to Remote Graph'. But, I suspect that since the DRM would be enabled on this file, you would not be able to connect it.

u suspect correctly , the file will only play in windows media 9
the only way i can see of keepin these films is outpit to my standalone dvd recorder and copy them this way , seems a shame theres not a better way to do this |

asf problems
Have you tried Virtualdub v1.3C? If you have the correct filters installed, you should be able to open the file and re-encode it with the codec of your choice. good luck
