a different view at divx5 encoding performance

http://www.anandtech.com/systems/sho...tml?i=1961&p=4

Even in plain beta status, and with no 64bit optimizations (recall that DXn announced a special AMD64 version of DivX), DivX5 is already 15% faster on a 64bit OS. Now imagine a stable OS, optimized drivers, and an AMD optimized DivX.. Intel suddenly doesn't look that attractive anymore.. even in their very own domain (AMD has already been doing much better in XviD encoding).

Yes it looks very good for Athlon 64 and XviD and now 64 bit DivX encoding. Intel don't really have a choice but to move on to 64 bit as it is the future. So glad I got a Athlon64 3400+ now Wait until I chuck it into my new nVENTIV Mach II cooling case and crank it up to 2.5 - 2.8 Ghz ... then we'll see some serious encoding speeds. HHD's will be the only bottleneck
