Only 1st CD's subtitle out of sync with audio

This is my first post. I have P4 2.4GHz, WinXP, 640MB. I was trying to convert Saving Private Ryan Special Limited Edition, NTSC/Widescreen Anamorphic 1.85:1/Region 1. I have Apex AD-1500 at home, and it uses CVD subtitle. I have used DVD2SVCD for about 2 months now, and everything has been great. Thanks for a great product. However, on some movies, the subtitle will be about 0.5 to 1 second slower than the audio. And the delay will always happen on the 1st CD. It doesn't happen with every movie, but when it does, it's always the 1st CD. Other movies this has happened are The Others, Spirited Away, and K-19: the Widowmaker. For Private Ryan, I used 4 700MB CD's. Disc 2 to 4 are fine concerning subtitles. Just the first one has the delay. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks so much. Log file is attached.

Hello!
Congratulation, very goord first post!
Since it only happens with the first CD, it have to be a player issue and has nothing to do with dvd2svcd. Uncheck title, changecd and lastcd - pic, and i bet it will work.

greets, winxi

Thanks, winxi! I currently have title and lastcd pics turned off already. I will test it with changecd pic off the next time it happens. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have the same issue with most DVDs as well (the subtitle being 1/2-1 second late only on the first CD). Did turning off the title, changecd, and lastcd pics fix the problem for you? It didn't make a difference for me. I'll have to find another DVD player to try out the SVCDs that exhibit the subtitle delay issue on my Apex 500W.

@Aperture,
I have Apex 1500 with me. I always put Title Picture and no Change CD or Last CD Pciture. I never get into this problem. Hope this helps.

Ok, i have a problem. I am using DVD2SVCD to convert the AVI divx files to DVD compliant mpegs so i can author them as dvd. I encoded the files using CCE (in DVD2SVCD), and the resulting file comes out to be 2 seconds smaller than the original DIVX file. The audio and video is fine, in sync, but when i view the subtitles with the converted file, the subtitles arent in sync.

Anyone have an idea why this happens? The converted file is PAL 25fps, like the original file.

Any comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks
