Also check what happens if you call:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Hybrid\mkvmerge.exe" --ui-language en -o "K:\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1.mkv" -d 0 --default-track 0:yes --default-duration 0:24000/1001fps --aspect-ratio-factor 0:1/1 --fourcc 0:MP4V --chapters "C:\DOCUME~1\Roberto\LOCALS~1\Temp\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1_10_03_27_621_03.chp" --compression -1:none --forced-track 0:no --no-audio --no-subtitles "C:\DOCUME~1\Roberto\LOCALS~1\Temp\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1_10_03_27_621_02.264" --default-track 0:yes --forced-track 0:no -a 0 --compression -1:none --no-video --no-subtitles --no-chapters "C:\DOCUME~1\Roberto\LOCALS~1\Temp\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1_eng_aid_0__10_03_27_621_0110_03_27_62100.aac"
I suspect something went wrong with:
Code:
MP4Box -raw 0 "F:\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1.mov.mp4" -splitx 0:0 -out "C:\DOCUME~1\Roberto\LOCALS~1\Temp\Cowboys and aliens tlr1 1920.800 5.1_10_03_27_621_02.264"
since I'm not sure why it contains '-splitx 0:0'.

Think I found the problem, it's related to the extracting calls, will test and send you a link to a testversion later.

Ok, thanks.

Anyway, I guess that there is a problem with Hybrid because I had not this problem before (I don't remember with which version because I re-installed Windows on my old pc on which I used Hybrid).
And I also made test with "real" mp4 files (mp4 container), and there was also this problem.

Problem lies in the analysis of the mov file. Hybrid grab's the wrong Audio&Video IDs and therefore tries to extract the wrong streams.

Ok, but same thing happens with mp4 files and mov files (with mov extension).
But I made a test with a MKV file (containing h264 and Dts), and it worked !

Same will happen with .3gp and m4a, m4v files,.. -> I know where the problem lies, but it takes some time to fix the problem.

Ok, good work.

I have some suggestions (not very important) : it would be cool to ;
*have by default the good extension added after the output file name (MKV if MKV chosen in output settings)
*be able to ;
-choose langage for audio tracks
-choose fps and DAR for picture
-edit the output file name (if we forgot a word or if we didn't type it correctly) without having to retype it completely and keeping the same folder (to avoid to return to the default folder and re-find the folder we need)
-mux audio and video opened separately (like MKVmerge)

The audio language is shown if behind the audio selector, if Hybrid knowns which language the stream is.
Quote:
-choose fps ...
you can change the fps under Filtering. (by scaling = dropping/adding frames or by speeding up/down the source)
If your input source frame rate is not detected correctly thats probably a bug or broken input.

Quote:
DAR for picture
Sorry, I don't like DAR (+ i don't see where it really is helpful) and so Hybrid will only allow PAR modification.

Quote:

no problem, will change Hybrid such that it'll reopen the path last selected for an output file.

Quote:

1st I'm using mkvmerge for multiplexing
2nd I see no reason to do it in two passes and create an unnecessary temp file.

Ps.: think i fixed the problem -> send you a pm with a test version

Thanks, it works now.

Do you mean only if the input is an mkv which already contains the information about the langage ?
The audio selector only shows a number (1).

Cool, thanks.

And concerning the extension, could you add MKV when needed ? Because it seems that we have to type it (not a huge work of course).

strange, send me a small sample (i.e. upload it to http://www.multiupload.com/ and I'll check it out)

When the output is entered without an extension (or with an unknown extension), Hybrid will add the one selected under: Config->Input/Output settings->Output Settings->Standard output container.

Ok, i will test it again.
Actually, until now, I used to copy the name of the input file (clicking on its name in the folder opened by clicking on "output file"), and of course, the mp4 extension was copied with the name. So I erased it and replaced by mkv. As Mkv was not the only format in the "type" line, I believed it wouldn't be added.

I meant with mp4 files, but you answered my question, Hybrid can't add it if it's not already there, so it's normal.

Nope it can't add a language tag automatically if the input container doesn't contain the info, you can however add a language tag using the tagging tab.

Geat program.

There is just one thing I don't understand : if I wanna mux an anamorphic mp4 file in Mkv (16/9 in 720.576), how do I specify 16/9 ?
In the muxing tab, I chose 16x9 but I got a 2.222 DAR (seen with Mediainfo).

If the source is anamorph and you feed Hybrid with the source, don't change anything,.. (Hybrid analyses the input and will set the PAR according to the input if not overwritten by the user, e.g. by setting a PAR in the Muxing-tab)
Like I said before: Hybrid does not use/care about DAR, it uses PAR. So specifying a PAR of 16x9 when you want a to specify a DAR of 16:9 wasn't a good choice.

The problem is that if I don't change anything, the image stays in 720.576 (DAR 5:4).
It's a file I encoded with MeGui and its PAR looks to be 1:1. So I should probably use MKVmerge before or after Hybrid to correct the PAR (or DAR).

I though you got an anamorphic mp4 file, which means it has a PAR value != 1:1.
Code:
mediainfo --Full "Path to file"
should report the Pixel Aspect Ratio.
Now you say you got a file with a 720x576 and a 5:4 DAR which would mean your file has a PAR of 1:1 (otherwise the DAR would be wrong, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_aspect_ratio)

Assuming your source got a PAR of 1:1 and a DAR of 5:4 which are both wrong for the source, you could still set the PAR in the Muxer tab to the right MP4-PAR:

DAR PAL NTSC
4:3 12/11 10/11
16:9 16/11 40/33

since your source is 720x576 which normally is a PAL resolution 16x11 would be the right value, to set a mp4 standard compatible 16/9 DAR.

Ok, thanks.
I made test a few minutes ago, before to see your answer, and if I put the mp4 file in MKV with MKVmerge chosing 16/9 AR, Hybrid doesn't keep this AR ; the file created by Hybrid is again in 5:4.
But it works if I change the PAR with Yamb (opening this transformed mp4 file in Hybrid).
I need to finish the process with Hybrid because my standalone player can't play the MKV created by MKVmerge, while I believe it used to work with older versions.

yup, because Hybrid uses mediaInfo to get the par set in the stream itself not the par in the container and mkvmerge probably leaves the stream par as it was,...

yup, because mp4box/Yamb sets the par in the stream and the container.

probably because of the header compression (there are a bunch of threads in the forum about it)
