burning problem

Wondering if someone can help.....I have used DVDShrink and put all the files created into a "video_ts" folder, then burnt using RECORD NOW MAX.The resulting DVD wouldnt play in my standalone DVD player, but it will play in POWERDVD. Do I also need to burn an empty "audio_ts" folder? Also I read somewhere that these folders need to be uppercase. WIndows explorer won't let me name a folder in all uppercase letters, so what's the go with that?.Hoping someone can help, it's costing me a small fortune in DVD-R's. Thanx in advance

You need both an AUDIO_TS folder and a VIDEO_TS folder even though you only place files in the video folder. They should also both be in uppercase yes.

I would actually recommend you to use the dvd video option in the latest nero for burning dvd movies as a good choice if you are not EXACTLY sure of what you are doing.

If you could use lowercase, you probably checked the JOLIET option.
Always uncheck the JOLIET for better compatibility.

Ok first of all, no you don't need an audio_ts folder!! Most of my backups don't have one...but it can't hurt...

Second, windows lets you name folders in all capital letters, heck I do it all the time. What are you using windows95?? I can't believe windows explorer is preventing you from doing that...as I said, I do it all the time in Windows2000 and WindowsXP. perhaps you have a virus or a totally screwed up installation of windows.

Third, go get ImageTools. Coujo posts info/links to it in here all the time. It takes a VIDEO_TS folder and burns it to DVD using the proper settings. That way you don't have to fiddle with Nero's settings or anything. By the way if it complains about file re-allocation then quit and run IfoEdit. Use IfoEdit to "GET VTS SECTORS" on the main IFO file. It'll correct sectors on all the ifo files..
