Closing GOPs
Hello!
Sorry if this has been already discussed somewhere here but i was unable to find it. Is there a way to close GOPs of mpeg-2 file without reencoding it? (sometimes my Philips DVD player forgets to display subs in totally random way and i think that this might be somehow related to open GOPs) Thanks in advance

All Philips players have problems if the peak value of bitrate of the svcd is higher than 27xx kbps. "Opened" GOP will help the encoder to save bits, so if you close all GOPs the bitrate will goes a little higher(not much), but you'll get a worse pic quality at same avr. bitrate or higher bitrate at the same quality... this will make your player even more mad...
With another dvd player your life will easier... |
