Need advice about my subtitiling method
hi
I'm subtitling LOTS of videos and I think my method isn't the easiest... so I'm going to tell you how I do things and ask if you know a better way (and am sure you do ^^) first, i use win7 x64, this is an important detail i get the source videos mostly from youtube, meaning I have them in mp4 format that's one of 2 problems I have with Subtitle workshop, because it does not support mp4 but i do love SW: ergonomically, it's just perfect so, using WinFF, i convert to avi then comes the subtitling and there's a big problem here: Subtitle Workshop seems to have a problem on win7 x64 beyond 7 minutes of length, you cannot get to the exact position in the video by clicking on the (starting or ending) time of a given line am pretty sure I've explained it very badly, but let's just say working after 7 minutes becomes a real pain in the... neck after that, i save as .srt and i use VDub and it's plug-in textSub to hardsub, and there again, another problem: textSub does not support multi-pass encoding so you see, there's a lot of issues and since I subtitle a lot, it's getting annoying and makes me lose tons of time anyone can tell me of a easier way? thanks a lot Last edited by Keeyu; 28th January 2011 at 22:38. |
