Problems with Panasonic LF-311

I upgraded my firmware on this unit to version 126 (the latest), to be sure. I burned about 10-12 discs from yesbuy.net and they seems to be fine. To check, I would insert into the player, then skip ahead a few chapters. Recently, I tried playing a disc from start to finish (probably should have done this in the beginning). About 3/4 into the movie, it starts to stutter, then freeze up. Happens on every disc I've tried so far. I can't believe I didn't test it in more detail earlier, now I can't return the thing. I think this drive is very sensitive to the cheap media. Anyone have similar experiences, or have suggestions on what I should do? Maybe sell it and get a Pioneer? Thanks.
