MPEG in - Slow Motion Out

Does anyone know of software that will allow me to convert a selection of mpeg video files(vcd quality, about 2-10mb each) into the same video but in slow motion - perhaps 50% of the source files speed.

I understand the length of the footage will double and so will the size of the files after conversion but thats fine.

Cheers

Hi, and welcome!

Looks like you will have to reencode it. I would use AviSynth for this:

DirectShowSource("file.mpg",25) # if original framerate = 25
AssumeFPS(12.5) # if original framerate = 25

You can ask specific questions in the AviSynth forum if necessary.

Do you also want the audio to be slowed down?

Hi Wilbert,

Thanks for that. The audio doesn't matter, its just the video. Basically, some captures from a video were done using Hauppauge WinTV using a PVR-350 and these grabs need slowing down to around half speed now that they reside as mpeg's on my hard drive. I have about 30 of them to do, will this software you mention do it relatively quickly or will it be a pain doing 30 of them?
