Am I crazy ?

Or is there a serious bug in DivX 5.0 normal and Pro ?

Each time I encode a trailer or even a movie there's some kind of "green or/and purple artifacting" on the blacks in dark scenes.
I've never had this problem with DivX 4 or 3.
I'll post a pic as soon as I have time.

If it can help, I'm encoding at CQ100.

This happens it seems with frame sizes not divisable by 16. It is a bug of the current codec. But so long as you abide by this for the time being it should not happen.

Bug confirmed - disable Psychovisual and Preprocessing in the codec

I got exactly the same error, and i was determined to figure out what it was.

I found out that I had turned the options for psychovisual enhancement and preprocessing to the maximum value. As soon as I diabled those, everything was fine.

I found the the problem by reading Doom9's first guide on divx5. He mentions that even the developers of divx know that those options are not working yet.

I hope it works for you too!

Regards,

Iznobad
