i guess there it will a problem ????

and how to limit the number of threads ???
the default setting is 0 which mean 1.5x of the nlogical cpu ???
suppose i enter 2 or 3 , does it mean that out of the 4 cores megui + x264.exe will use only 2 or 3 cores ???

I guess MeGUI uses idle by default, if Firefox is slow then it's probably the hard drive, ideally you would use 2 drives, a SSD as system drive and a normal hard drive for media.

@forum king: the logic remains the same. higer priority processes will have a higher priority, hence more CPU cycles if they need them.
limit the threads with the threads option. 1 thread will use one core, 2 threads 2 cores etc. (1.5x is a coefficient to maximize the threading efficiency so, for example, to FULLY use 2 cores, x264 sets 3 threads as default).

lol as the topic hasnt moved a bit in last 5 days , i thought i ll make a double post..

actually i tried editing threads counts after the latest update of megui, but i donno i dont see no change in the command line at all after changing it from 0 to any other value.
then i tried manually adding --threads x in the edit option ( x being any value , i added 6 :P ), but after that x264 wont start at all, as if it has slept :P
what should i do :P
regards

Please try the development build 0.3.5.6. I am assuming you are using 0.3.5.0 at the moment, correct?

Zathor, have you taken a step backwards from MeGui, or could we still expect some of your brilliant work to MeGui in the future ?

Are the Plugs no longer updated ? (DGToolsNV for example)?

There are some new Versions already out...

Thanks for the reporting. I have not much time at the moment and therefore it would be great if you could point out which tools are out of date and direct me to the download links.

Thanks for not replying, it's the best way to express the truth.
I hope MeGUI will not fall back in the buggy mess it once was.

He said "I have not much time at the moment". What do you want, a personal telegram?

Your impertinence is shameful.

i must have missed that version.

megui has been awesome for years. the problems of 1057 were really blown out of proportion, it was 100% usable with some awareness of the commandline even with latest x264.

thank you zathor, shartooth, kurtnoise, and all!

  - (zathor) [MkvMergeMuxer] header compression is disabled for all tracks
  - (zathor) [MainForm] slightly tweaked file\open

don't know if this was mentioned anywhere else.

i can get megui to reliably crash by unchecking "open preview after avisynth script selection". it will crash either as soon as i load an avs file or as soon as i click on the enque button. hope this helps.

my script if it matters:
LoadPlugin("c:\program files\megui\tools\dgindexnv\DGDecodeNV.dll")
dgsource("D:\tmp\12.dgi")

My MeGUI doesn't crash after unchecking "open preview after avisynth script selection" and loading an avs file/enqueue, but my script is different though.

Thanks for the report. As it seems to be no general problem please describe the crash in more detail (e.g. post a screenshot or the log if possible)

It seems that custom profile: vbvsize, vbvmax, vbvpeak values are not loaded properly in "XviD configuration dialog". Upon loading the preset, they always come as zeros. Values are properly saved in xml preset file, and they are properly applied when preset is chosen without entering configuration dialog.

There is a bug with autoupdate. In http://megui.org/auto/ there is x264_presets_v52.zip, but with autoupdate Megui see only x264_presets_v51.zip.
