dvd shrink properties (legal issue)
does anybody know if dvd shrink and their logo are legally recognized (and protected) anywhere?
I've stumbled across a less-than-legitimate site that's using their name and logo, without any reference to the official site (or any real content at all), and I hate losers like that abusing another groups rep for profit. I've reported the site to the place they're advertising on, but I think the complain would carry more weight if it were coming from the people with an actual claim to the IP's being misused. |

dvdshrink (the person) never made himself public (for obvious reasons). As such, I strongly doubt if any of his work, websites or whatever are copyrighted.
Report the bogus site anyway (you often see these selling nothing but a download and a manual on how to use the prog - ripoff merchants!) Regards

At other forums (similar in concept to Doom9), that accept advertising, you'll even see banners advertising "DVD Shrink 2008", or similar. Ironic that forums would accept such garbage that could eventually lead to its members getting ripped off... |

2) Is there a point you're trying to make? Does the (possible) source change anything I've said? |

Even if your suppositions were correct, they in no way mitigate my observation that: Quote:
BTW - Your statement that: Quote:
When accepting paid advertising through Google (and other resources), should the site administrator desire, many levels of limiting filters can be applied/requested, that would result in the exclusion of various types of ads... |

you can request certain ads are excluded when you use googleads
also the #1 site on yahoo.ca for 'dvd shrink' pointed me to a site that sells links to it to be fair they also linked to videolan and only charged for using their 'guaranteed' links |
