AVI -> DVD Guide help

I'm trying to follow the guide, but it mentions Sonic Scenarist and, correct my if I'm wrong, there is not shareware nor demo version.

Is there any way to make the image without Scenarist?

I presume you are using DVD2SVCD?

Anyway, you will be able to take the assets (m2v, mp2/ac3) that are produced and import them into the authoring app of your choice (e.g. rejig, at the free end).

I think maybe Nerovision or whatever it's called will do this? I don't use crappy apps like that so not sure.

Only free authoring tools AFAIK are IFOEdit and Rejig. However IFOEdit should not be used with NTSC material containing pulldown flags (i.e. if your avi was 23.976 fps). Not sure if Rejig has any problems with this material, but it should definately be better.

In terms of trialware, Mediachance DVDlab is available as a 30 day trial and should do what you want without too much hassle on your part.

... and freeware dvdauthor. It's not an encoder so you'll need other tools to encode video and audio, but that's usual for dvd authoring tool. Although simple (command line only, xml config file) this tool is quite powerful. It supports multi-audio, multi-subpicture titles, multi-language menu units, defining pre/post commands and AFAIK it works with both PAL and NTSC. There are also some freeware GUIs around.

Tnx for aaaall the info.

I got around using DVD2SVCD and some other tools, but looking at NeroVision it seems it works pretty good.

Any comments about it?
